Hello all,
I have a pair of ALTEC 802D-8D drivers, black bodied. Looking at the driver from the rear, I see two terminals, one on the left is numbered "1" and the terminal on the right is numbered "2".
What would be the typical ( stock - untouched ) "plus" and "minus" connections, represented by each terminal, "1 and 2 "?
TIA,
Jeff Medwin
PS,
Having LOTSA fun setting up my A7-800 VOTTs in my living room. Cool speaker !! Love hearing the horn load on the 15 inch, vs, say, a 604 MLTL !!!

Many thanks to both of you! That is what I "heard" swapping phase...good.
Now to eliminate the terminal ( different material !! NO ?? ) and CAREFULLY solder directly to the tweeter voice coil wires.
It was good for less distortion on the 515Bs by a wide margin audible. The 802D, terminals removed, will exhibit the same result, ie Sound Better !!
You're welcome!
Yeah, coming from an industrial electrical background, terminals are the weak link of any electrical ckt. and why so much $$$ is spent annually short ckt. testing them to ensure they remain up to UL spec.
